Interior of the 2025 Kia EV9

The 2025 Kia EV9 has room for six or seven people across three rows. The second row comes with a bench by default, but you can swap that out for captain’s chairs. The seats are made of synthetic leather that holds up well and doesn’t feel cheap.

Inside, you’ll find plenty of space for both passengers and cargo, with the total passenger space going up to 160 cubic feet. The second row gives you 42.8 inches of legroom, and the third row can fit adults without squeezing. If you’re packing gear, there’s 20.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row. Fold the seats down, and that expands to 81.7 cubic feet.

Kia includes standard heated and ventilated front seats, plus power adjustments so you can get comfortable quickly. Every row has USB-C charging ports, and tri-zone automatic climate control comes built-in. If you pick the upgraded seating, the second-row captain’s chairs can be heated, cooled, and adjusted just like the ones in front. There’s also an option for lounge seats with powered leg and footrests to help you relax more during long drives.

Exterior of the 2025 Kia EV9

The 2025 Kia EV9 doesn’t look like your usual SUV. It has sharp lines, a bold shape, and a lighting design Kia calls the “star map,” which gives it a modern, tech-focused look. Yet, it still works as a daily driver.

All trims come with a hands-free liftgate, so you can load stuff in the back without putting anything down. It’s a four-door SUV, and safety features built into the body include a rearview camera, parking sensors up front and in back, and automatic high beams.

If you move up the trims, you can add alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, privacy glass, and a rear spoiler. LED headlights and single or dual sunroofs are also part of the package, depending on trim. You can upgrade to include cameras that show your blind spot or give you a 360-degree view while parking. There’s also Remote Smart Parking Assist, which uses sensors to help the vehicle park itself.

Color selections available for the 2025 EV9 include:

  • Ocean Blue
  • Aurora Black Pearl
  • Ebony Black
  • Snow White Pearl
  • Panthera Metal
  • Ice Green

Power and Performance of the 2025 Kia EV9

The 2025 Kia EV9 features multiple power choices. The Light trim has rear-wheel drive and one motor that produces 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Light Long Range also has rear-wheel drive and a single motor, but drops to 201 horsepower.

If you want more power and traction, check out the Wind, Land, or GT-Line trims. These come with all-wheel drive and two motors – one on each axle – producing 379 horsepower and up to 516 lb-ft of torque. When set up right, the EV9 can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

On the road, the EV9 keeps things simple. The ride stays smooth, even over rough pavement, and it stays quiet at highway speeds. The steering feels light, which makes the EV9 easier to park and handle than you might expect from a three-row SUV.

All models have adjustable regenerative braking. Once you get used to it, you can even drive using just the accelerator. Every trim uses an 800-volt setup, which lets you recharge quickly at a fast-charging station.

If you need more out of the EV9, the AWD trims add stronger performance. Wind and Land trims have an optional Boost mode that pushes torque up to 516 lb-ft. You can also add a heat pump and battery warmer to help in cold weather. A self-leveling rear suspension is available, too, especially useful if you carry heavy loads often.
