2021 Kia Sedona vs 2021 Honda Odyssey

Serving Louisville, TN

If you're looking for a comfortable and spacious minivan that also excels in performance and style, the 2021 Kia Sedona is a great choice. The Sedona offers an overall pleasing package of amenities that include a stylish exterior and a cockpit-like cabin filled with several features. Safety, technology, and a wide range of options are all available to ensure a pleasant, relaxed, and personalized ride in the Sedona. The Sedona competes with the 2021 Honda Odyssey, but it has a more aesthetically pleasing exterior design. Furthermore, the Sedona has a more intriguing and modern cabin that is more like an SUV than a minivan. The Sedona also excels in comfort and versatility. The Honda Odyssey, in comparison, does not get power-folding seats in the third row. While Kia's features are user-friendly and intuitive, the Honda controls can be overly sensitive and frustrating.

Interior Design

Along with offering plenty of space and amenities, Kia's interior also stands out for its unique style. The Kia has a cockpit-like cabin that gives it a contemporary appeal. Standard features on the Kia base trim include a power-adjustable driver's seat, a seven-inch infotainment display screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and smartphone pairing. A six-speaker sound system is also standard. The second trim, called the EX, adds keyless entry, wireless charging, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A sunroof, 110V power outlet, and tri-zone climate control are standard on the higher-end trims. The SX adds climate-controlled seats and an eight-inch infotainment display. The Honda only gets a five-inch infotainment display screen as a standard feature. It does not offer an additional 110V power outlet, and ventilated seating is not an option.

Exterior Features

Along with a well-equipped cabin, the Kia has a head-turning exterior. The base trim begins with 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights, followed by larger 18-inch wheels and roof rails on the second trim level. Chrome accents are added on the higher-end trims, and LED headlights are included on the SX. The Honda has an overall less refined and exciting exterior. The Honda lacks unique features such as chrome accents, and it does not come with roof rails. The Honda also has fewer options for wheels and has less trim-specific options.

Value

Overall, the Kia Sedona offers more excellent value than the Honda Odyssey. Many more features are standard and available in the Sedona, and it comes with a low price tag considering all of its amenities. The Kia Sedona is offered at a lower price across the board than the 2021 Odyssey lineup.

* "Starting MSRP" is manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for base model trim. MSRP excludes destination and handling charges, taxes, title, license, options and dealer charges. Actual prices set by dealer and may vary.
